Trombonist Kevin Dugat has put his talents to use as a soloist, chamber musician, and music educator across the United States and abroad.

Kevin was a founding member of the Osteologists Trombone Quartet, which performed regularly in the San Marcos and Austin area, and most notably a solo performance at the 2013 International Trombone Festival in Columbus, Georgia. Also in 2013, Dugat was a member of the award winning “Hill Country Jazz Bones”, a group that won the National Jazz Trombone Ensemble Competition hosted by the Eastern Trombone Workshop, and was named runners up in the Kai Winding Jazz Trombone Ensemble Competition hosted by the International Trombone Association. Dugat’s undergraduate career also saw his solo debut as he performed “Live Lived” by Michael Davis with the Texas State Trombone Choir. As a graduate student, he was named to the participant class in the 2014 Southeast Trombone Symposium held in Columbus, Georgia, and a year later was an apprentice in the National Music Festival in Chestertown, Maryland.

Upon his graduation, Dugat established a thriving studio of middle school and high school low brass students in the San Antonio area while maintaining an active performance schedule. Dugat performs regularly with San Antonio Wind Symphony and its affiliated brass quintet. In 2016 he toured nationally as a member of the brass quintet with the St. Louis based “Cornerstone Chorale and Brass”. From 2016-2017 he was on faculty at the Luzerne Music Center in Lake Luzerne, New York where he also performed in the Luzerne Music Center Brass Quintet. Dugat joined Schreiner University in the fall of 2017 as the Coordinator of University Bands. At Schreiner, Kevin assists with University Concert Band, conducts the University Pep Band, and coaches brass chamber ensembles. Also in the fall of 2017, he made his debut as a member of Kerrville’s own Symphony of the Hills. In the spring of 2018, Dugat will travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana to compete in the North American Brass Band Association’s National Competition with the San Antonio Brass Band.

Originally from Kerrville, Texas, Dugat holds a Master of Music from the University of Alabama, as well as a Bachelor of Music from Texas State University. Dugat’s primary collegiate instructors were Dr. Jonathan Whitaker and Dr. Martin McCain Jr.
